These creatures are unassuming and want to love you. If they are corrected they acknowledge it with a lowered head and tail and look up with an “I’m sorry” look. Then when the hand is placed down and we speak to them they come over to us timidly and start to sniff or lick it. When we begin to pet their head they come out of the stopper and happiness returns to their actions.
When we are chastened by God, we too feel the Master’s angst against our actions. The Lord never hates or despised us, He hates and despises the sin and actions we take. To make us change we are corrected. When the correction occurs we need to open our spiritual ears as His loving hand and voice will be beckoning our return to fellowship.
“My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.”
Proverbs 3:11-12 NLT
Let us be happy when corrected by God for it shows us His love for us and may we then listen and heed the correction willingly. May we return to Him humbly and in reverence allowing His to wrap us in His loving arms.
