As I sit here with the window open doing my morning study, the breeze is blowing in and the birds are making a beautiful chorus. At least one dove is coo-ing and multiple other species of birds are tweeting along. Their excitement and joyful song for the new day is unmistakable. God knows everyone of them…
“What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.” Matthew 10:29 NLT
But we are of more worth to Him than the birds.
“So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matthew 10:31 NLT
If the birds of the field are cared for by God and they awake with a thankful song; how much more should we who are more valuable bring a thankful song every morning?
“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalms 100:1-5 NLT
and
“It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening,” Psalms 92:2 NLT
So let us give praise and honor to our God who set up the plan of redemption through His own Son’s sacrifice that we may have fellowship with Him.
