We all need help…we may not admit that we want help or need help. But just like with thread turning into string and string turning into cord and cord turning into rope, each layer of the fiber makes the whole stronger. We all need each other as we walk the road, strengthening our life and sharpening our spiritual senses. If a fellow Christian stumbles we can help each other up or perhaps help keep them upright in their journey.
As iron sharpens iron we must also be open to our fellow travelers sharpening efforts. However we can only be open to each other if we build a relationship with each other. That is where help comes in…we all need it and we should all be actively looking for others to help us as we also look for others to help.
“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17 NLT
“We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.” Romans 15:2 NLT
“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” 1 Corinthians 12:7 NLT
“When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.” Romans 12:13 NLT
“If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.” Galatians 6:3 NLT
So let us be open to and in search of where we can help and be helped in our journey to the righteousness of God. A journey is always more enjoyable when shared with a friend. We are one body in Christ and are all pressing on toward the high calling of Christ our Savior.
I can hardly wait to see what God has prepared and planned for us as we walk this journey out with hope and expectation.
“No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God —his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.” 1 Corinthians 2:7-10 NLT
Be blessed!
