To experience, bring, and/or show joy. Our little puppy is just so joyful and excited to see us and he can hardly keep it in. He bounces all over and runs sprints around the living room and dining room. He can’t keep all fours on the ground when he sees Cheri. He hops up and down like crazy letting her know how excited he is.
Our Christian walk should show forth our joy in the Lord. What greater joy can a person have than the knowledge that we are set free from the bondage and slavery of sin? We know that we have an inheritance with our Lord in heaven where we will live for eternity. All of the things on this earth will pale in comparison with the things He has laid out before us.
“Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the Lord.” Psalms 144:15 NLT
“Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:5-11 NLT
“Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” John 14:19-21 NLT
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” John 14:1-3 NLT
Now isn’t all of that something that we should be joyful over? Let us be joyful and share this joy so that others might join in our joy.
Be blessed!
