A word denoting a point in time. Now is the current point in time. Of course, now is always moving with time. As the second hand moves…now is that current second. So now, is after the last second and before the next second. Now always exists and the future melts into now each time the second hand moves generating the past.
So here are some thoughts…
“But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.” Colossians 3:8 NLT
Right this second we should throw off all of these wrong actions in pursuit of the holiness of God. The past doesn’t matter and the future is changed by what we do this instant.
“For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT
At the right time God reached down with the Spirit’s conviction and through the sacrifice of Christ gave me salvation. That time was at Parklane Assembly of God ~48 years ago. But if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior…as this verse says, “the ‘right time’ is now”. Time is short for this world and judgement will come. If you would like to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, message me and we can talk.
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1 NLT
For those of us who know the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, we do not live under the condemnation of sin. We are alive in Christ every second of our day. As now moves through time we cannot be condemned if we continue to live in Christ. Leave the past behind, continue to walk in the light, and let God arrange the future.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 NLT
So this is my declaration:
I will live in the now; each moment striving in my spirit man to attain the righteousness of God and his holiness. Forgetting the past and in constant pursuit reaching toward the mark of the high calling of Christ.
Be blessed!
