A piece of a sentence, a part of speech, a revelation, a thought…
God’s word is of course a collection of words that reveal to us His thoughts and plans. Where would we be without His word? I think we would be lost and confused looking for direction. Daily confused with no hope and full of anxiety of what tomorrow holds, all the while putting up a front that we are happy and satisfied.
Do we hunger?
“Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 8:3 NLT
““That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” Matthew 6:25-26 NLT
“God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.” Matthew 5:6 NLT
Are we tempted?
“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT
Do we feel that we are bound by sin?
“He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 NLT
“So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:11 NLT
Is there fear in our life?
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
There are many more applications of scripture for what and where we are in our walk. We can take the word and apply it to our lives because we see in 2 Timothy:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT
Let us then apply His word to our struggles and storms with hope and confidence that He is bigger and stronger, and that…
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 NLT
Be blessed!
