Peace

1 : a state of tranquility or quiet
2 : freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions
3 : harmony in personal relations

A pond out in the country when there is little, if any, wind is a site of peace. The water lay tranquil and quite under the great expanse of sky, reflecting images of its surroundings and the sky. One can sit by a pond like this and lose their stresses of the day almost instantaneously.

Our plans and deadlines keep us from relaxing (disquieted) and become oppressive with the time crunch. This high stress thoughts and issues can then lead us to be less than cordial in our relationships as we lose control of our frayed emotions and thoughts.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We need to refocus our deepest thoughts. If we place God at the deepest meditative level of our thoughts we will be at peace. What we do and the way we act drives us to handle our stressors in such a way as to allow God to work with us. Our relationships are smooth because we exude the confidence of a child of the King and the love He gives to everyone.

Lord help me to keep my deepest thoughts on you. Guide me through the stormy waves by calming my mind to see them as ripples on smooth water. May my confidence expand in everything I do as I do those things as unto you. In Jesus name, amen.
